Meet the Team

Lucky

Island Manager

She’s been with us at Royal Belize since 2014 and all her friends on the island call her Lucky. She’s originally from Teakettle Village. Her favorite dish from Chef Izzy is the triple color fish tacos. If Lucky could be any animal, she would choose a bird so she could fly all around Belize for free! Her number one recommendation for Royal Guests is to try spear fishing in the local waters.

Joe

Island Manager

Joe has been with Royal Belize for seven years. His friends call him Boss and we can see why! We is from the village of Jacinto outside of Punta Gorda. His favorite dish from Chef Izzy is the blackened grilled snapper with mashed potatoes. He loves to spearfish and lobster hunt around the island with guests.

Patrick

Private Chef

Glenda

Housekeeping

Her friends call her Sweet G and she’s been with Royal Belize for a few years. She hails from Punta Gorda with her 14-year-old daughter, with whom she loves to spend time when she’s not working! Her big recommendation for Royal Belize guests is that they come say hello to the staff. Her favorite Belize dish is Cohune cabbage or a margarita at Royal Belize. If Glenda could be any animal, she’d choose a bird, so she could explore the local jungle.

Oscar

Service

Since he’s been with Royal Belize since 2017 all his friends here call him Butch. Butch’s favorite local dish is stew chicken with rice and beans and his secret talent is running. His number one Royal Belize guest recommendation would be the scuba diving. If Butch could be any animal, he’d choose an eagle, so he could fly free above the Belizean coast.

Polo

Service

His friends back home in Dangria and here at Royal Belize lovingly call him Marco Polo. In his off hours, Marco loves a good game of basketball and spending time with his wife. Polo has been with Royal Belize since 2017. He recommends all Royal Belize guests go reef snorkeling and try his favorite recipe, bundiga, a local dish made with fish, coconut, and banana.

Edwin

Service

Edwin’s friends call him Bosho and he has been working at Royal Belize for three years. He recommends that guests get out on the reef to go snorkeling and Lion Fish hunting. His favorite meal of chef’s are the tricolor fish tacos and says not to miss out on them while you are here.

Clifford

Maintenance

Marco Cowo

Boat Captain & Maintenance

Originally from Punta Gorda, he’s been working with his brother, Arnoldo, at Royal Belize since 2017. In his off hours, Marcio loves to listen to local music and make chicken with rice and beans with his wife and two young sons. He recommends all Royal Belize guests try spearfishing or grab a Belikin Beer (a beer exclusively made in Belize) with him at the Royal Belize Bar. If he could be any animal, Marcio would choose a bird so he could see a better view of Belize from the sky.
